Full course description

Domain 4: This professional development activity focuses on the Chicago Public Schools’ Framework for Teaching (FFT) Domain 4 with Critical Attributes (CPS' REACH teacher/licensee evaluation system). Participants analyze the criteria for each component and element; and determine strategies, techniques, and practices aligned to the “Distinguished” [highest] level rating.  The session includes group collaboration to analyze the Framework and determine aligned “Best Practices” in professionalism. Teachers also collaborate to discuss and plan ways to improve their ongoing maintenance of student records, how to interact with parents, community members, and external partners to impact student learning, and how to handle difficult professional situations (i.e. colleagues not collaborating, lack of buy-in from department heads, etc.). This PD activity provides materials and resources relevant for mastery of the CPS FFT Component 4d (growing and developing professionally) that can be added to teachers’ professional development binder.
