Full course description

Visit the Illinois Holocaust Museum for an introduction to the variety of resources available inside and outside the classroom. Through a guided exploration of the Karkomi Holocaust Exhibition, Make a Difference! The Harvey L. Miller Family Youth Exhibition, and the Take a Stand Center, investigate the power of choice, responsibility, citizenship, and human rights, and to discover what influences our decisions to act as bystanders or upstanders in response to inhumanity. Explore our Teaching Trunk Program and learn how to use this popular resource to teach the Holocaust, character education, and genocide or human rights in your classroom.  Upcoming professional development opportunities for educators will also be previewed. This offering is aligned to the CPS Framework for Teaching Components: 1a, 1c, 1d, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 3c.
