This course is designed for teachers just getting started with e-learning and distance learning. A wealth of free tools is available online that can be used not only in distance learning, but as part of regular classroom instruction with kids with iPads or Chromebooks. Student response systems, guided online lessons in math, science and language arts, podcasts, virtual field trips, tools for enriching an existing digital presentation and so much more will be presented in this course. Included are step-by-step instructions for each tool. If you are apprehensive about the challenges the coming year presents, this course is for you. Over 20 free tools will be presented. Teachers will gain confidence and benefit from collaborating with their peers from other Illinois schools on tools for implementing distance or blended learning programs. This course is suitable for teachers of grades K-12. Younger students will need adult assistance with most of the tools presented in this course.
