Full course description

Online Only | Learn all about how to use the video game Minecraft as a multidisciplinary educational tool. No matter the subject you teach, Minecraft can be an ideal tool to help students build their skills, creativity, personal expression, spatial awareness, problem-solving ability, collaboration and social emotional skills. Minecraft is a sandbox-adventure video game that kids love to play. It's also an excellent tool for educators to use to build STEM skills, creativity, personal expression, spatial awareness, problem solving, collaboration and social emotional skills. In this session, you will be introduced to Minecraft (as well as its partner version - Minecraft: Education Edition). We will view many of the pre-made lesson plans that integrate Minecraft into other disciplines, including Science, Math, Computer Science, Language Arts, History & Culture, Art & Design, Digital Citizenship, Social Emotional Learning, Equity & Inclusion, and Climate & Sustainability. This is an ASYNCHRONOUS class; there is no video meeting at a specific time. You can engage with the content whenever you would like.
