This course is designed to provide educators with the tools and knowledge necessary to establish and maintain a successful mariachi program within their school. Through an exploration of mariachi music, history, instruments, and techniques, participants will gain a deep understanding of this vibrant musical tradition. The course will also delve into practical aspects of program development, including recruitment, curriculum planning, ensemble building, and performance opportunities.
Course Objectives
Understand the history and cultural significance of mariachi music.
- Identify the various instruments used in mariachi ensembles and their roles.
