Imaginari Teacher Fellowship Application
The Imaginari Fellowship for Teachers is a place to explore and act upon the big, middle-of-the-night questions:
- Why did I enter this profession, really? Am I doing what I set out to do?
- What is the deeper purpose of education?
- Beyond academic and social skills, what is the worldview that children absorb in school? What values and ideas are emphasized? Which are brushed aside?
Imaginari fellows tackle these questions through shared inquiry, dialogue, experiential learning, and reflection, and then develop their own small-inquiry projects—”experiments in education”—that they enact in their classroom or school. Find out more here [https://www.imaginarifellowship.com/] or by emailing the instructors.
Requirements/Expectations: Fellows attend five (5) cohort meetings, including two in-person meetings (at start and conclusion of fellowship) and three meetings via Zoom; design and implement a project or initiative (see below); support one or more fellows in their projects; and share the project out at program conclusion. The total time requirement is 24 hours, 10 in class and 14 hours independent/small group.
Project Guidelines: Fellows design and implement a project or initiative that furthers the fellowship mission of reimagining education. Each project/initiative is developed in collaboration with a fellowship facilitator and one or more supporting members of the cohort. Projects will vary greatly depending on the fellow’s interest, capacities, situation and goals.
