Full course description
Online Only | This three hour session (90-minutes online and 90-minutes of independent work) will help attendees establish a framework for their students to make the connections between the human activities that are causing climate change and the socioeconomic ripple effects our warming planet. Climate change is an issue with connections to both science and social science curriculum and this session will help teachers in both fields to clearly address the causes, risks and potential solutions surrounding climate change. The session will draw on a power point created by Al Gore’s non-profit organization, the Climate Reality Project, as well as class discussion and local and national climate education resources. Attendees will leave with new resources and strategies for teaching this increasingly important topic.
