Are you looking to help your students who are easily distracted, disorganized or inflexible? Would you like to find new strategies to assist youngsters who have a difficult time initiating and/or completing their work? Are you hoping to learn new ways to teach kids to regulate and self-manage their emotions and behavior? IF you answered YES to any of those questions, then this course is for YOU! This course will provide you with a basic understanding of the cognitive processes known as Executive Functioning Skills. These skills are the brain’s ability to organize, plan, initiate, self-regulate and more. The majority of the course will then focus on learning simple and practical strategies that will help your students strengthen their executive functioning skills in order to become self-reliant and successful learners. This course is designed to assist regular education teachers  servicing all students in the regular education setting. This offering is is aligned to the Illinois Social and Emotional Learning Standards and to the CPS Framework for Teaching Components:  1b and 3e.
