Full course description

Did you know that the Chicago Public Schools is issuing new guidance requiring financial education for all high school students prior to graduation! Learn more about this requirement and receive training in the proven and effective Get Real: Financial Decisions in the Real World curriculum from the Economic Awareness Council (EAC).

The Economic Awareness Council has been providing education in Chicago high schools for over 10 years. Each year over 25,000 youth participate in EAC programs. High school students in IL completing the Get Real program increased their financial literacy from 56% correct responses at pre-test to over 90% correct responses at post-test.

All teachers successfully completing this training will receive certification from the EAC to teach their program, a training guide and USB containing applied activities and peer-based videos, a sample program set for up to 20 youth (20 sets for the first 15 teachers who register) and invitations for inclusion in special EAC programs such as an annual state conference, scholarship competitions, and a subscription for their students to On the Money Magazine.
